Fahrenheit Universities: A Union for Excellence
The Fahrenheit Universities (FarU), is a union of the three largest higher education institutions in the Pomorskie Voivodeship: the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology and the Medical University of Gdańsk. FarU represents a combined community of 44,000 students. Researchers from member universities conduct scientific activity across 31 disciplines.

Career Offices are also the first point of contact for businesses interested in cooperation with universities. Through them, companies can establish recruitment and workshop partnerships, deliver expert lectures, participate in university job fairs, publish and promote job and internship offers.
SEA-EU (European University of the Seas) is an alliance of nine universities from coastal countries: Poland, Spain, France, Germany, Croatia, Malta, Portugal, Italy and Norway. The initiative is based on shared maritime heritage and international cooperation. Its goal is to create the European University of the Seas — an interdisciplinary and multilingual academic space integrating education, research and innovation.
From the 2025/2026 academic year, SEA-EU offers joint degree programmes that enable students to study in an international environment. The project cooperates with 75 partners and covers five main research areas.
The ENHANCE project is an alliance of ten European technical universities from Sweden, Switzerland, Poland, Norway, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain. Established in 2019, the initiative focuses on international cooperation in the field of advanced technologies.
ENHANCE aims to create a European interdisciplinary space combining innovative technological development with social responsibility and sustainability principles. Alliance activities focus on key areas such as digitalisation and artificial intelligence, smart cities, environmental protection and sustainable development. ENHANCE supports academic mobility and collaboration between students and researchers from over 70 countries worldwide.
ACE2-EU (Applied, Connected, Entrepreneurial and Engaged – European University) is an international university alliance of which the Medical University of Gdańsk is a member. The alliance cooperates on innovative educational programmes, joint research projects and practical courses delivered using challenge-based learning methods, combining mobility, interdisciplinarity and cooperation with external partners.
The project emphasises sustainable social transformation, international cooperation, future skills development and joint solutions to social and technological challenges.
In the Pomeranian Voivodeship, the largest university units have their own Technology Transfer Centers.

The SEA-EU Project
The association aims to create an international, multi-ethnic, multilingual and interdisciplinary European University of the Seas, which will be a transmitter of innovation and knowledge transfer. Firstly, university units share a cultural and economic maritime tradition. The project aims to deepen maritime knowledge and scientific research. Thanks to the presence of these universities, the European University of the Seas will cover the northern, western and southern facades of the European continent.
